it's nandra. they also call her nashz, the history of such name is way too long to elaborate in this little space. she's seventeen. she's a she. she lives a typical metropolitan lifestyle in the capital of Indonesia. she's currently in her senior year of high school, enduring the second and last year of IB Diploma Programme that's totally ruining her life slowly. but she thinks the whole suffering would give her some sort of advantage in the (scarily) near future. she's a CISVer and lovin' every bit of it. oh, she also very much enjoys mango juice, she'd even prefer it than OJ haha. and while we're at it, yes, she might be random from time to time. she wishes you'd be quite patient about it. :)

all jazzed up!

"Jazz rhymes with Mraz."

Jason Mraz was awesome! it was definitely worth the 3-hour wait, which becomes all the more excruciating when i really have to pee but as it turns out the toilet line is practically the same as the concert line. bummer. but yeah, it was definitely worth the wait. Jason Mraz really totally mesmerised me, especially with that goofy dance of his, which was just adorable. it was really great seeing him live! all yous who missed it totally miss a great deal of exceptional music!

however i think java jazz was rather chaotic this year. it was just so full of people. the crowd was unbelievable. i went to java jazz since it first started and i have never seen such crowd. jcc was just filled with people. it was practically impossible to get food there too. i mean, rasti and i had to actually get out of jcc to get food 'coz we were sooooo hungry after the concert haha.

oh here's a funny story. rasti and i decided to get out of jcc and catch a cab from sultan to fX. but i don't think the driver knows where fX is so he took us to eX. haha. we were so hungry we didn't really care anymore. as long as we were able to get decent food in a decent manner. haha.

because of the crowd (and the somehow not-so-great artist lineup), i didn't really get to see much on java jazz. but whatever, both artists i saw yesterday was just sensational! so after our little trip to eX, i went with my dad to catch this band called Sensual, from Netherlands. i heard they played bossa, and i love bossa so i decided to check it out.

and as it turns out, THEY WERE AMAZING!  eva kieboom's voice was very much soothing and wonderful. if you listened to it, you'd problly think she's portuguese, but she's actually from holland.

oh oh, and lebih gilanya lagi, gw sama rasti sbenernya ktmu sm bassist and drummernya waktu di tunnel sultan-jcc! kita kleper2 ga jelas wkt liat betapa cakepnya mreka haha. we totally had no idea that they were members of such amazing band! hahaha. i was really dissapointed that i didn't know that and i didn't get their autograph or pictures.

Sensual.

BUT, the universe works in mysterious ways. because after Sensual's show, they had signing sessions! yeaaaaaayyyy!! i was so stoked! coz i got my CD signed and took pictures with the members of the band!

top to bottom: with rik kraak (bass), with tim danek (drums) and emiel (keyboard), with eva kieboom (vocals)

yayyerz. rasti was freaking out when i told her bout this. haha see rast, i told you, you should've stayed! hahaha. but again, sensual's songs are awesome. some are very soothing some makes you just wanna move! although i watched their show at midnight, the vibe was still there and the band was very much communicative and made us sing along. there's really not much i can say about them, just go get their cd (if there is still any available haha). oh oh my favorite song from them is this one called Uma Ponte, which turns out to be about this guy who's trying to build a bridge from amsterdam to el salvador to be with his girl. so sweet :) though i don't understand the lyrics coz it's in portuguese hahaha. it's still sweet.

well i'm closing off this post with uma ponte right here. listen to it and you'll get hooked for sure haha.
