i like writing reviews. but haven't done any in a long time. haha. once i wanted to do it monthly yet i haven't exactly kept that promise. so i wanna start! woot!
Definitely, Maybe
Directed by: Adam Brooks
Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Abigail Breslin, Rachel Weisz
alright, i know it's so last summer, but let me tell ya, it's a love story told like no other.
so it's a story about a guy called Will Hayes (Reynolds), who's in the midst of a divorce. one night, his daughter Maya (Breslin) asked him about his life before marriage. Will agrees to tell this 'bedtime story', but changed the names and Maya will have to guess which one of his past girlfriends is her mom. so his story begins loooong before Maya was born, when Will was just out of college.
see, it's a love story like no other. Will's love life is told in a series of flashbacks and Maya constantly comments on his 'story'. i think i could dub this movie as the ultimate romantic comedy. Ryan Reynolds was absolutely awesome and charming. the love stories are unique, each of them as a story of their own. although maybe some were a little bit umm... cheesy? but i thought it was okay.
what i love about this movie is probably the message in it. well the message that i capture of course, dunno about you lot. anyways what i get was... i know it may seem common but... it's the person right in front of you, the person who's always been there from the start, the person who you hardly realize that they are there from the start... that is the person worth holding on to, worth loving... and i think it's absolutely true :)
anyways, here's my favourite quote from the movie:
aaaawh. so sweet. :)
well peeps, i really wanna do another one. but i'm kinda drowsy. it's problly the flu meds. haha. so my next review would be on sarah dessen's lock and key, hopefully haha.
ciao!
